My freshman year of high school, I was homecoming princess, a member of the student council, a volunteer for the special olympics, and the 4a Basketball leading scorer in the state. With great friends and a 4.0, I was the epitome of a successful high school athlete. My world came crumbling down when I tore my every ligament in my right knee, weeks before the state tournament. I felt like I had lost my identity. Recovery was hell, I’d be lying if I said that there weren't moments that I wanted to quit. Luckily, my ambitious personality helped me overcome them. I had dedicated too much time to my studies and the gym to be average now.
