Belle Boyd, a Confederate spy has become a memorable character in history because of her accomplishments and permanent impact on America. By looking through her life, I believe from Belle Boyd we can learn the trait of courage when studying legacy of her life.
Historians and authors consider Belle’s biggest achievement was being a confederate spy. Being a Confederate spy, she flirted with soldiers to get information out of them. Belle’s real name is Isabella Maria Boyd. She also has a few nicknames; such as Belle Boyd, Cleopatra of Succession, and Siren of the Shenandoah.

One in which included Eliza Hopewell Corsey, which was Belles maid. Later on Eliza became responsible for Bell's warfare, and being her servant, bodyguard, and confidante. Belle would play multiple pranks on Elizia. In 1856 she attended a school in Martinsburg with her brothers and sisters. After that her parents thought that she could be further educated and sent her to Mount Washington Female College. She entered the college studying French, music, and classical literature. In 1859, when she was 15 she graduated from Mount Washington Female college. Belle describes herself as Friendly and outgoing. She died while she was acting out one of her Civil War adventures on stage. She is now buried there in Spring Grove Cemetery. She ended the show with “one God, one flag, one people - forever!”
Courage is viewed by God as the ability to do something brave out of motivation of the heart. God uses courage in people to spread the gospel to others or being brave to do it not fearing to spread the gospel.
In Deuteronomy 31:6 it says: “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” In this verse God is saying to be brave or to fear greatly because God is with you always. This verse comes into Belles life because when she was in prison she didn't fear she found a way around it.
In 1 Chronicles 28:20 it says: Then David said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished.
