On my way to Wharton County Junior College Sugar Land, I decided to stop by the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Sugar Land. The painting I found very eye-opening was titled A Kerangas Forest Floor, the painting was created by Carel P. BrestvanKempen. The painting was made in 2010, and is currently going around many venues. At the moment, the painting is in the second floor of the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Sugar Land. The painting will be in the museum from October 2, 2015 until February 14, 2016. A price tag for the painting is $14,000, and could be bought on Carel P. There are no lines running throughout the entire painting, except for the perimeter of the illustration board. The painting is very colorful, capturing how beautiful the Kerangas Forest is in real life. It has no movement, because it is stationary in a black frame on the wall of the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Sugar Land. The painting uses the lighting well, as the bottom of the painting is brighter to show the beauty of the leaves. Everything in the painting fits well together, the creatures are in the forest together, while on the leaves. The sign near the painting explains the scene of the art, the forest is called “heath forests”, which is a type of tropical forest told by the ecologist P. W. Richards. The mythology the artist is trying to display is despite the poor soil of heath forests, which is normally acidic and sandy; the kerangas forests are filled with trees, most of them with the diameter of three inches, and under thirty feet tall. Most of the artist paintings have been made of acrylic, I could tell that the artist favorite medium is acrylic. The artist individual style retains in wildlife, all of his paintings are sketches of wildlife. All of his paintings are in the biodiversity in the art of Carel Pieter Brest van Kempen exhibit of the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land, because they deal with the life science portion of the
