A Few Good Men Hero's Journey

The heroes journey is the age-old tale of a hero overcoming adversity. This is the model of the story of our heroes has been retold again and again in every generation so far and will continue to do so. Some examples include movies such as A Few Good Men, Fight Club and V for Vendetta, these are all well-known movies in the current and past generations and have been known to stand the test of time and they also match the template of the hero’s journey.
The call to adventure is what all of the films protagonists have to go through to begin their adventure, for the main character in A Few Good Men, Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee the call to adventure is when he is assigned the case of trying two men for the murder of a fellow marine cadet. For a few good men the ultimate boon is when Kaffee was able to make Jessup (the commanding officer of the marine who died) admit to what he did under oath, and when asked if he had the marine killed. he barks contemptuously that he did it. When he justifies his actions, he is arrested. By doing this he is able to help the marines case and prove that they were just following orders. His boon is the fact that he’s able to show what the marines actually did therefore winning the case. For fight club there is no ultimate boon. For v for vendetta the ultimate boon is when the corrupt government is finally thrown into a state of anarchy marked when the military kills a young girl for committing vandalism. This shows the characters missions as over with and the corrupt society is brought to its knees, the ultimate boon can also be when v kills the two men who have been running the society and leaves the military with no one to lead
