In the book “3:59” the author Gretchen McNeil, writes the story about a girl named Josie, whose life is miserable and would do anything so switch it with a doppelgänger who she thinks her life is perfect, and everything she wants but has an unexpected twist in her life. A quote from the book is, “But Jo’s world is far from perfect. Not only is Nick not Jo’s boyfriend, he hates her. Jo’s mom is missing, and is probably insane. And at night, shadowy creatures feed on human flesh.” In the book, the author had wrote the book in Josie’s point of view, and had included most of her thoughts and feelings. The first event is when Jo and Josie switch their places, in their different universe. When Josie had switched places with Jo she was so excited for the she thought was going to be there. She didn’t even think for a second to go back. When she did switch places, everything in each of their worlds changed. The second event that had happened is when Josie found out that her actual birth mom was is Jo’s world all along. When Josie had found her actual mom, she knew there was going to be hope that she was going to be with her family again. The third event was when Nick and Josie found out Tony who was Nick’s dead brother was alive. This was when Nick was being attacked by Nox and Tony had saved them, but because he got hit with the explosion he had no face, it was as dark as black with no face. Another major event that happened in the book was when Josie found out the Nox couldn’t attack her and see her. Josie found out that she was immune to the Nox when she and Nick were being attacked by them, because they were only attacking Nick. The last major event in the book is the tragedy of finding out that the person they could trust had betrayed them, which was Mr. Bryne from Jo’s universe. During the last chapters of the book, the book had revealed that Mr. Bryne from Jo’s universe was the person who had caused all the trouble, including the explosion that separated her family
