When a revolution against oppression begins in order for it to be successful You would need to have a strong will, like Rosa park when she was in NAACP, or a strong influence in people, like Gandhi and you have to have the support of the people, like the American revolution and war. But there’s multiple mistakes that can be made in a revolution, and there's multiple qualities that one would need to possess in order to lead a successful revolution. So one may look at past revolutionaries or even fictional stories to see what to do and what not to do. So we can look at literature to find the information.

With Gandhi it was like bringing a knife to a gun fight except Gandhi must have been in a lot of knife fights because he was so successful in his protest even though he died a violent way from forming a nonviolent protest. Gandhi had a lot of success in his rebellion but what made his protest not chang things completely and what he lakh was actually doing something, yes it was a peaceful protest and his way of taking action was be not fighting and by fasting, it wasn’t really the smartest action to take even do it did work for some time. People still continued to be violent after the fact even after he died, sometimes when fighting in leading a rebellion you have to be a hypocrite to completely get your word out there and to complete fight against oppression because it is a fight and if you just sit there blocking the whole time your defence will break sooner or longer.
