Big Brother if the government does not control the amount of power before it is too late.
In 1984, Big Brother has complete and utter control of the fictional country, Oceania. For example, the two way screens are their surveillance cameras, for short they call them telescreens.

Not only do these telescreens invade the citizens’ privacy but they have to be completely careful of the words and the actions they do.
In the United States, the government has set up surveillance cameras today that are different from the telescreens in 1984. Long Beach police chief Jim Mcdonnell claims that surveillance cameras being used by his department are “not running a camera- monitoring center, but it will allow them to see what happened or is occurring on a street or an intersection”
(Winton). He also claimed that it would not be case of “BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU”
