Also, Detropia mentions the Cadillac plant that has closed but, in the movie we see MacGregor driving a CTS Cadillac. If he is really struggling that much living in Detroit, then how is he still able to afford a forty-thousand-dollar car? The film also takes note of the huge pay cuts new workers are expected to take, without demonstrating how existing workers rose up out of the bankruptcies with far less harm than other partners. I do however agree and disagree with the points made. I agree with some of the points made because it shows facts, and real life people explaining the depression. But I also disagree because the film as a whole just leaves a lot of things unexplained and a lot of questions unanswered, and I believe it leaves out a few important things that have happened in Detroit, that have led up to the depression.
The major takeaway that I got from the movie Detropia was, that this can happen anywhere in the world, not just Detroit. It helped me to open my eyes and realize just how lucky I am to live in the community, and economy that I do, here in
