My first thought was “Why is there so much white space?” Many others have probably wondered the very same thing. The white space is overwhelming and it almost gives the impression that the artists who designed the ad ran out of time, resources, or creativity. The text should be larger and a more elegant (or jollier) font should be used. The kisses should still be the prominent feature of the ad. With these changes to the appearance comes the potential for many additional emotional appeals. The cabin in the woods sort of feeling in the imagery could speak to the need to escape, and the couple curled up by the fire could speak to the need to feel safe or the need for sex. If a couple of children or a baby was added to the picture, the ad could also speak to the need to…

A future hall of fame quarterback trying chips in a supermarket sounds like a decent idea for a Tostitos commercial. This is actually advertising Nationwide Insurance. While this advertisement might entertain the viewer and get the Nationwide jingle stuck in their head, this advertisement for Nationwide is unlikely to be effective because, it doesn’t mention car insurance, and because Peyton Manning doesn’t give any credibility to this advertisement. This advertisement goes through a day in the…
