    A small desk lamp bounced on a ball and deflated it. That was the beginning of an animation studio worth 7.4 billion dollars. Pixar originated in the 1970s at NYIT (New York Institute of Technology), a computer scientists team including Ed Catmull contributed to the field of computer graphics. In 1979 Ed was hired by Lucasfilm Ltd. production company of filmmaker George Lucas, Ed was to lead the computer division (“Pixar Animation Studios”). Later on John Lasseter was hired full-time to join the computer division as an interface designer (“Pixar Animation Studios”). Steve Jobs bought the computer division from George Lucas in 1986, and established it as it's own company, Pixar (“Our Story”). Jobs took an interest in Pixar when it was first starting, a decade later he built Pixar into a major animation studio (“NeXT and Pixar”).
