Personally, I do not think that PE should be a required class for any schooling past elementary. First, there is no real benefit of taking a PE class other than getting the required credit. Second, it can wear students out and that can potentially get in the way of other classes as well as jobs. Finally, finding a solid dedicated instructor for a college level PE class would probably be one of the biggest hassles possible. My first point is that PE class really offers no benefit other than the…
The Time Machine by H.G. Wells was written during the Industrial Revolution and caused the middle class to cease. They became a part of the first class. It became gradually harder for the lower class to succeed and get jobs that were not blue collar. H.G. Wells uses the Eloi and the Morlocks compare and contrast how the Industrial Revolution affect the social classes throughout time. The story of The Time Machine was written at the height of mass production, discovery, and advancement. H.G.…
a political science class was being offered at my high school by Merced College. I was very excited to find out about this course because of my plans to major in political science and eventually find a career in the politics. Of all possible subjects, I was very lucky to have this college course offered at my small school that otherwise would not offer opportunities like this. I had absolutely no doubts about taking the class. The course started on the night of the first day of school, and I was…
previous semester and felt confident in my math abilities when reflecting upon the course. I knew I needed one more math credit, but I did not know if I should sign up for Honors Discrete Mathematics or Honors Precalculus. Knowing I would face a Calculus class while in college, I decided to take Honors Precalculus, not knowing the challenge that awaited me. Consequently, I consulted friends and acquaintances regarding the course and its rigor. I wanted to know what to expect the moment I walked…
Ever since my first AP course, sophomore year, I disliked anything that had to with the class for “advanced students.” It was not that the teachers were awful and putrid, but rather that I was the one who despised the rigor and work that came with becoming a full blown AP scholar. However, my junior year was quite different. I was still in AP courses, but I got to taste the sweetness of dual credit classes, as well as the fun that came with it. Dual credit classes are college courses by which a…
1801-1910 Industrialization was at its peak. Although, middle-class and working-class members were not the same in the long run a few middle-class had similar ideas to the working class in regards to the harsh conditions. When comparing the middle and working class and their opinions on the work of nineteenth-century Europe it is clear to see that few middle-class members had similar opinions to those of the working class, and those few middle-class members saw the harsh conditions on the…
I was excited to begin Driver’s Ed, so that I could start driving. On the first day of Driver’s Ed, I arrived slightly early. In fact, I arrived two hours before my class was even supposed to begin. As I walked in, the instructor, Gene, gave me a confused and angry look. Now before I continue, I must ask, who the f*** names their child Gene? Now getting back to my story, I was already nervous because it was my first day of Driver’s Ed, but what unnerved me even more was Gene’s face as I walked…
there. I was assigned to Ms. Pickholtz’s 1st grade class. When I first arrived to the charter school I was extremely nervous and a little anxious because just the thought of actually helping a teacher run a class seemed scary to me because I felt like I would do a horrible job at it. However, I was welcomed by both the teacher and the class and I felt in place. Ms. Pickholtz’s class consists of 24 children, ages 6 to 8. It’s a co-ed and mixed class of friendly and adorable students. During my…
My Writings Through the First Semester of Creative Writing Walking into Mr. Trice’s classroom on the first day of school for Creative Writing class, I didn’t really know what to expect. I knew we would be writing a lot, but I didn’t know what exactly I would be learning about writing. So walking in on the first day was as if I had a new and fun adventure for an elective each day of school. We started off the year with learning the basics of writing. the little things that help every writer…
