What is reconstructive memory?
An indication that memory is only reliable to some extent.
What did Loftus (2003) say about memory?
Loftus suggested that memory may be scrambled around in the process of retrieving and may also be manipulated.
How come eye witness testimony is not reliable?
Eye witness testimony is usually memory from what we saw after a few minutes or seconds. It has caused a numerous occasion where innocent people were convicted of something they didn't do (found out by DNA). Therefore, because of the short moment we saw a situation, memory cannot always be reliable.
