"80-20 Rule"
Basic principle states that 80% of the problems in a process care caused by 20% of the possible sources.
Forming-Storming-Norming-Performing Team Development Model
Forming: Polite and reserved, learning about one another to determine how the group fits together.
Storming: Expressing differences and disagreeing which strengthens the group. Individual styles become apparent.
Norming: Constructive approaches are discussed using effective communication methods that were honed during the storming stage.
Performing: Highly effective, problem-solving unit that can come to consensus over useful solutions. Group is self-regulating at this point.
Team Charter
A team charter is a document that is developed in a group setting that clarifies team direction while establishing boundaries. It is developed early during the forming of the team. The charter should be developed in a group session to encourage understanding and buy-in.
The team charter has two purposes. First, it serves as a source for the team members to illustrate the focus and direction of the team. Second, it educates others (for example the organizational leaders and other work groups), illustrating the direction of the team.
Team Selection Criteria
- Ability to work with others in a collaborative mode
- Respected among peers and organizational leaders

Group interaction and rapid generation of ideas.
Teamwork Tools: Nominal Group Technique (NGT)
Type of brainstorming that encourages al participants to have an equal say in the process and is often used when group members find it difficult to speak openly.

"Group Passing Technique". Used to stimulate a group of reticent individuals to contribute to brainstorming process.
