Assembler
Assemblers translate assembly language into binary code for processing by a computer.
Interpreter
Interpreters translates each line of source code one by one as code is executed.
As code can be stepped through, bugs can be easily identified.
The program does not need to be compiled every time a change has been made.
Compiler
A compiler translates all source code in a solution into object (binary) code, which is generally saved as an executable file. This executable can then be run without the source code.
Compiled code runs faster than interpreted code but if a change is made, the program must be recompiled.
