World War 1 Cause And Effect Essay

“I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat” said Winston Churchill about world War I informing us of how it was the most violent war in human history. It was deemed by many at the time to be the war to end all wars. It caused death tolls unheard of in most other wars in human history. World War I also introduced the beginning to modern warfare as we know it. The cause of World War I was the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The effects of this war are a new understanding of what modern warfare is, and America profits off of the countries involved. The Archduke was assassinated to start the war. It was a normal day for Franz Ferdinand. Ferdinand was out to show his face to the public in a parade, little did he know this was his last day alive. In the crowd of people watching the parade were multiple assassins all with the same goal in mind to kill the Archduke. During the parade the assassination attempt was made but was unsuccessful. One of the assassins who failed, went to the local pub, because he was unhappy of his failure. As fate would have it the Archdukes automobile broke down right outside the pub the assassin was in. The assassin saw his chance to finish what he began that day and took it. After the death of the archduke World War I began in 1914.
