Trump Travel Ban The United States is known for being one giant melting pot of diversity. What I mean by diversity is all of the different races, origins, religions, and beliefs that have been brought to the U.S. This is what the American Dream has created. The belief that no matter where you are from, what your religion is, or the color of your skin, you can still create a better life for yourself and following generations. Why is that? The more diverse a nation is the more knowledge and more history is developed. He has a very big following of white working-class citizens who are misguided because of moral disengagement. This is when individuals and organizations trick themselves into believing that their thoughts about others are justified. However, there is no rationality to these thoughts and fears and no justice behind what actions they take whether it be verbal or physical. This travel ban is a perfect example of moral disengagement because when the Trump administration was accused of being unjust and discriminatory, they attempted to justify their actions by saying it was for national security. With that being said, there is a better possibility that it has increased the threat of terrorism
Diversity is something that has brought many people into this country together, as well as showed other nations the strength that we have, but by shutting the doors we have begun to weaken this country through fear. This country was created on the backs of immigrants with a vision for themselves and it flourished with hard work, as well as not being persecuted for being who they were. Through that high diversity, we created this giant melting pot we call the United States where we accepted people for their differences and learned about things we wouldn’t have.
