It all started in 7th grade when I struggled with fractions. The following year, I was put in “Bridge to Algebra”, which was a class for those who wasn’t ready for Algebra I, but also understands some Algebra. I passed the class so I was able to enroll in Algebra I for my freshman year. I was excited to move on to Algebra I, but I realized that everyone else in my school class was enrolled in Geometry and I was behind.…

Many people have different opinions about what they think about math. For instance, I looked up opinions people said about math and most of them were negative. One person stated: “I know a lot of people don’t like it. For me, I was good at the subject, but I didn’t really enjoy it.” In the story “Why is Math so important for kids to learn?” by Elise Wile, the author’s attitude toward Math is interested for these reasons: (1) she explains how it teaches logical and critical thinking, (2) she explains how it teaches life skills, and (3) she also explains how it supports continuing education and careers.…
Personal Statement Maths is such a broad, diverse subject and studying the four areas of maths has given me a wide range of mathematical skills whilst also being a lot of fun! There is always something more to learn and understand, and it is that which fuels my dedication to the subject. This year for math I will be doing Algebra 1 on Khan Academy. I did 8th grade math on Khan Academy and I liked using it so I decided to use it again. Last year I decided to do 8th grade math instead of doing pre algebra because 8th grade had more variety including geometry which we thought would be good for me. I am looking forward to doing algebra because that is a strong suit for me so it should be a little bit easier than last year.…
Algebra 1 was an major excel to me,because I had to pass that test in order to graduate. It was not an easy task knowing my algebra teacher was always one me and pushing me to the task. Ever since I was a little boy I had an interest in math. Math has always come easy to me compared to others and when someone is worthy at something they tend to enjoy it even more. Also, the aspect of how bridges and buildings are able to stand with such force has continuously amazed me. This is what sparked my interest into attending the Civil Engineering Technology program at Montana State University Northern. Throughout high school and college I have taken rigorous classes and achieved above a 3.5 grade point average.…
Computer programs are not very good because they can cost lots of money, they are hard for students to understand, and students don't memorize how to actually construct the figures on a program. First of why computer programs are not good is that some cost way more than just using a compass and straightedge. Although there are some free geometry programs, they don't have tools in the program and it's just a gridded screen that you can draw on. That can be easily accessible on graph paper with a pencil. Plus, compasses and straightedges can both sell for under a dollar and still work to make precise measurements.…
I’ll keep this blunt. I feel that I have to a degree upheld my reputation. That reputation is one of a hard working, extremely high scoring student. I started this year hoping to excel in all curriculum. I have lived up to that in certain subjects but, not in others.…
Back to high school, I was little hazy about what I am going to do in the future. However, my parents wanted me to get into a professional job since both of them have graduated from a Computer Science degree and they have always encouraged me to follow their path. In high school, my favorite subject is Mathematics because I have a passion for solving problems, and I will always do a happy dance in my brain when I have solved a challenging question. I like the way that Computer Science makes me think logically.…

Statement of Purpose Mathematics and geometry have always been my passion since my childhood. I had easily learned the numbers and basic calculations before I started primary school. I have consistently passed my mathematics classes successfully through my eagerness of the mathematics. Since I was a successful student at the other classes as well, I got opportunity to go to one of the most prestigious high schools which was far from my town. In addition, I was the first person who went to this high school from my town; therefore, so many future students have been inspired by me.…
