Why Did The French Revolution Occur

The French revolution was one of many bloody revolts that was caused and effected by many outside issues. All of the factors compounded together to create a turmulus state within France, this went far beyond sudden wish for freedom and rights. This revolution was caused by weak leadership, environmental problems, unfair political and economic treatment which eventually led to the creation of a constitution and death of many royalists. The revolution was started by the naive royals that lived a pampered life where they couldn’t see the poor commoners suffer. Marie also lived an extremely posh lifestyle where she would throw parties and always provided more food than the party ever needed. Her famous quote ‘Let them eat cake’, was one of the main tension points in starting the revolution. That was her response when she was asked about the starving people in her own country. Marie was completely disconnected even while the revolution was happening, it wasn’t until her capture did she realize the state of France. While her husband, King Louis, was ignoring his political and foreign responsibilities. Ironically, he helped fund the American Revolution and was main factor in the British defeat.
