The British did not send troops to the colonies for quite some time at the beginning of the French and Indian War. The unwillingness of the king to send troops angered the colonists, since they needed back up. The colonists had to fight on their own and this created a sense of unity among the colonists. Then, after the French and Indian War had ended, the King of Britain placed the Proclamation of 1763 on the colonists. The Proclamation of 1763 basically said that the colonists could not settle past the Appalachian Mountains. Since the colonists had basically just fought and won the land all by themselves, it made them so angry to have it taken away. Tensions began to build and the American Revolution occurred
