Many people suggest that John Logie Baird, a Scottish inventor, is known to be the father of television, for his works in being able to successfully transmit to a receiver that broadcasted a moving image in 1926. However his device was not an all electronic television, but was a electro-mechanical system. Other people believe the father of modern day television to be Philo Farnsworth, an American scientist. In 1927 Philo created an all electronic TV system which we would all now know as the TV. People will also debate Paul Gottlieb Nipkow as the father because he invented the first device that would transmit television by using 30 small holes. There is no individual that can be debated as the father of television, but these men are known as some of the founders of modern television. The early designs of televisions would be generally a box like structure with a small screen due to the amount of space used for the receivers and transmitters. Some companies even manufactured TV’s that were extremely expensive with a prices that would exceed 100$ that which easily is over one thousand dollars in todays money. About 30 years later in the 1950s color televisions were beginning to be sold because of Peter Goldmark’s success in being able to make a mechanical color system in the TV. The concept of television became a reality from people’s successes in interpreting it and knowing the possibilities. At many times it seemed Television was doomed to fail because of its outrageous prices and its small potential.; people still seemed entranced by it. The industry has even broadcasted many important things that have made it what it is today, such as the “Moon Landing,” and famous shows like “Seinfeld,” and “American Idol.” The breakthroughs today may even become what the future of television may be. The possibilities are limitless knowing that if something can be improved than can change and evolve into something different. People usually do not take into account how long it has taken just for our luxuries devices to exist today, and don’t know how or when it could completely
