One of the main tasks of any society especially American society to help its people to understand what is good as Socrates stated that if a person know what is good, that person will do what is good. I believe that the American society is teaching and helping to understand what is good by learning them the values in every aspect in their daily lives and teaching children in schools also in colleges. American society is trying to teach young people values. Values in other words are a person’s principles or standards of behaviors, one’s judgment of what is important in life.
