Tanks are large contraptions that hold men that shoot a large machine gun from the inside. They contain chain like wheel that make them easy to navigate through winters or any type of weather. In addition, machine guns became a major hit in the Great War. This provided rapid shots for the man protecting himself and were extremely convenient. Another major advancement in World War I was the use of submarines. Submarines were also known as U-Boats in the Great War and held torpedoes to sink ships of the enemy. The Germans used subs to attack the Lusitania, the British ship that help prestigious Americans, which is one of the reason’s the US joined the war toward the end. In addition, aircrafts were a huge development for war. Aircrafts had just been invented by the Wright brothers, so the aircrafts were dangerous, but affective to see movement of the enemy in the sky. The last advancement of technology that was a major part in the Great War was the use of laughing and mustard gas. This was huge because it could kill many people at once to clear or force people out of an area. All of these technologies made the war something that each country was not prepared for except for the US. US’s leader, John Pershing recognized this war was unlike any war before. He prepared his troops with proper trench, tanks, and gas training before placing his troops in the dangerous Great War. In contrast, Russia suffered greatly in the Great War because of their lack of industrialization. Their original plan was to outnumber the enemy, but they lacked proper supplies to fight in World War I which resulted them leaving the war in March of
