He means his title literally, arguing that the environment and level of education of a person have minimal, to none, role in shaping and molding our minds, changing our behavior. This positon leads him to the controversial conclusions, but he stands by his findings. He argues that humans are pre-programmed by their brain development in the womb and that free will is, therefore, illusory. Stated in previous chapters, he makes that we would be off without religion and even that physical exercise does us more harm than good: “if you really bent on taking up a sport,” he offers, “how about chess?” New discoveries are constantly being made, thanks to the massive growth in neuroscience and the technical advance made in the
