Tubing Vs Water Skiing Research Paper

Improved Essays
Summer time brings a lot of new and fun activities to my plate. Among these are tubing and water skiing. I enjoy both of these activities a lot, but in different ways. Water skiing is a tough and rewarding sport while tubing is an easy and relaxed activity.
When I start tubing, I can see the red and yellow checkered rope attached to my tube. It runs through the rough and choppy water up to the boat. I am lying down and staring at the faded red and yellow covering. The white tube shows through the tear in the fabric. The equipment does not have to be perfect since tubing isn’t strenuous on the tubes or the tuber. The boat rumbles and the white bubbles start streaming from the back. I don’t have to put any effort into staying onto the tube.

When I fall, I skid on my back for a moment and sink into the warm water. I bob calmly up and down while I wait for the boat to turn around and come get me. I just hoist myself back up using the weathered, yellow handles and the boat starts up. Just like that, I’m going again.
Falling down while water skiing is a much worse punishment. I am going strong, then out of nowhere the water suddenly gets closer to me. I slam into the water face first. The cold washes over me as a slide on my back. I slow down and sink into the chilly water. I look down and the depth of the water makes the bottom look black. My skis came off my feet during the fall so I swim around and collect them.
Tubing gets boring after a while. I cannot do anything to challenge myself. After I get bored of water skiing on the two skis, I can slip my foot out and drop one of the skis. I wobble at first while I blindly try to find the foot slot for my right foot on the ski. When I slide it in I regain my balance. Then I go in and outside of the wake. I have a lot of fun when the boat makes a sharp turn and I zip along. When the boat makes these turns, I whip around and ride parallel to the boat. However, I am constantly on the edge of falling during these turns. It is challenge to not slam into the my ski is gliding

They couldn’t even stand up for a while, and once they would stand up they couldn’t keep their balance and would topple over. We also had a lot of fun tubing. Sometimes, we would play games on the tube, like seeing who could stay on the longest without holding on. After we were tired out , we got to tie dye shirts.…
