Life’s Battles On Screen
Beatris=Tris From the time we are all old enough to think on our own there is a constant battle. Our choices are endless and it is unusually hard sometimes to pick just one thing and stick with it. Especially when it’s time for college there are so many choices and requirements and not all the time we fit or meet the requirements for those specifics. After watching Divergent it helped me to compare its moral to my life. As I can compare the main character Tris to me and my life we are surely the perfect match. Starting in middle school, I was placed in schools based on my grade point average and performance. A lot like the test Tris had to undergo it kind of resembles the SAT test everyone has to take in order to be placed to certain colleges you are best fit for academically and sports wise. Divergent was an exceptional movie because it helped explain how life is today. Divergent captured the key struggles of becoming an adult. Just as faction newbies did in Divergent, I also faced and still face indoctrination and initiation processes, as a college student I undergo exams to ensure that I am worthy of continued education and attendance to my college. Factionless can be found amongst me because lots of times I feel like I don’t fit into social cliques or other group oriented settings. As I watched Divergent, it helped me realize that I was and still am really stressed about having to choose a college and a major. In Divergent, a war happened that killed almost everybody. This movie excels at conveying the anxiety of the time in life when you don’t know who you are and yet you face incredible pressure to decide not only who you are but also who you’ll be, and what you’ll be doing, for the rest of your life. The strongest parts of the film are
