I am surprised to find my assessment in this style, I feel that I my leadership style is procedural yet the results show I’m quite the opposite. Good sales results require effective communication skills. I have found a customer centric approach to be far more effective than traditional pushy sales approaches. A customer centric approach focuses on the customers’ needs, making the conversation about them. It is necessary to have an enthusiastic, empathic, and reasoning conversation with our prospects. After all, we are trying to sell a service to prospects whom are sales professionals and being a pushy salesperson turns them away. If a member of the sales team is having a rough day then I will encourage them to not contact a prospect until they have resolved their issues and have a positive attitude. I will help my team by being an advisor. Improving problem solving skills will increase the moral of employees. Instead of telling a team, what the solution is I need to guide them with opinions and suggestions. By practicing advisory, I will teach my team the rewarding process problem solving efficiently and effectively.
Work in a small business requires we all wear different hats, sometimes the support team answer a sales call, or the sales team answer a support call. Talents will emerge when the team members volunteer to perform duties outside of their daily routines. Employees initially put in a position or role based on the availability might later find are happier and more talented in a different position. I will encourage volunteering for goals even if they are outside of a comfort zone.
