Automobile crashes as a result of distracted driving has taken the world by storm. In 2014, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that 18 percent of injury crashes, and 16 percent of all police-reported motor vehicle traffic crashes were reported as distraction-affected crashes (“Dangers of Distracted Driving,” 2016). Distracted driving is driving while doing multiple activities or one activity that takes the attention away from driving (“Distracted Driving,” 2016). Distracted driving has become a public health concern because it puts people who are driving at risk and other people on the road at risk.
