The Crucible by Arthur Miller written in 1953 has a lot of Hysteria and fear in it. Abigail and the other girls were saying that some individuals are involved in witchcraft. The Crucible is aiming to tell the audiences that people should be more careful when it comes to hysteria and how there can be awful things that can happen when we do get caught up in hysteria.
A Crucible is a severe test or trial, which is exactly what happens in the Crucible. It makes sense that the play is called the Crucible because many of the characters are tested with regards to their faith and put on trial for witchcraft. People should always face their fears. When people are feeling Hysteria they tend to lose their temper and they don’t know what they are doing.
