3. Summary-
Book one is Part One of the novel, The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. In this beginning section of the book, Clare and Henry’s love story unfolds. We learn of the couples twisted relationship and different meetings throughout the years. Time plays an important role in this first section as I believe it will later in the novel as well. The novel begins with Clare and Henry meeting at the Newberry Library in Chicago. She is 20 while he is 28. They sleep together and she confesses …show more content…

11. Quote Analysis- Choose one sentence or passage from Part Two of the book (this is the exact same thing you did for Part One except you need only write ONE). Write the quote, page number and a short paragraph (five sentences) about why you chose this quote/ passage.
• Quote One (page #410) “This is a secret: sometimes I am glad when Henry is gone. Sometimes I enjoy being alone… but I’m always glad when he comes back.”
As much as Clare loves being with Henry, it adds a pressure knowing he will leave again without any notice. She enjoys the time she spends with him, but it’s always complicated. She can’t count on him to be there for the difficult moments, especially with Alba. Although she feels this way, he will always be the love of her life and she will always wait for him. He was so happy that she remembered waited for him. Their love was so strong it withstood all the pain and time. She fought for him and waited until the day she could see him again.
• Quote Two (page #517) “I sleep all day. Noises flit around the house-garbage truck in the alley, rain, tree rapping against the bedroom window. I sleep.”
After you lose a loved one, everything you do just seems useless. Henry was the biggest part of Clare’s life ever since she was a little girl. Now the only thing she can look forward to is when she is an old woman and can see him that one last time. This quote symbolizes the pain of a loss.
18. Opinion-
This book was very long for a summer reading project. It was hard to summarize such a long book into only three 150 word summaries. I would rather this novel be the essay or the test. I enjoyed this book however and it was beautifully written. I would enjoy seeing this book in film. If someone was to read this book I would tell them to make sure you read into everything because there is a lot of meaning in this
