Many people saw this deletion of genes as eugenics, the specific selection of successful chromosomes in the genome, or that it could lead to the cloning of a human being. Because of these topics, the general population is questioning whether this project is entirely ethical. Those who advocate for cloning and eugenics, such as Julian Savulescu, believe there are many benefits from human cloning: sources of human cells and tissue, prevention of genetic disease, possible immortality, etc. “Not only is there a shortage of tissue or organs for those with organ failure, but there remain serious problems with the compatibility of tissue organs used, requiring immunosuppressive therapy with serious side effects. Using cloned tissue would have enormous theoretical advantages, as it could be abundant and there is near perfect immunocompatability” (Easton 339). Savulescu brings up a significant point to prove that cloning does have benefits. Finding a compatible donor for organ transplants is very difficult because the recipient’s body can reject the transplant and then complications follow. With cloning an individual, there will be an exact donor for the transplant and the body will not reject the new organ. It will increase the success rate of transplanting organs exponentially and will make it easier to
