This bothers me because when people do not listen to themselves or others speak and they do not completely say something with the meaningfulness that it should be spoken in. For instance, when I personally love someone on a serious level, I say “I love you.” This is different for people who are friends or are just not at the same level because to them I might only say “Love you”, or nothing at all. The difference is the meaning behind it, but people do not listen or care if one little word is not there, but it really matters to me. I also think people say “Goodbye.” too often. An example would be when I get out of someone else's car, I say “bye”, but I have noticed some of my friends just say “Goodbye.” For me, goodbye is something final. The word means that you might not ever see someone again or there is a possibility that they will never see you again. When you say goodbye, it is basically a forever statement, not something temporary such as “bye”. People let these often-spoken words pass through their ears without actually comprehending what the person said to them. This is a mistake that occurs on a daily basis and it personally annoys me. In conclusion, my biggest pet peeves are caused by people not being all ears. My first pet peeve is when people take “I’m fine” as an answer instead of digging deeper into others’ feelings. The next pet peeve is caused by people who do not clean their ears, but let the wax build to a point of sickening others. My last pet peeve is when people do not speak meaningfully, but instead shorten the words which completely denotation of the word. So now ask yourself, “Am I letting people suffer while saying they are
