Life is difficult for most of people now but in the past it was even more difficult. Modernization brings about change and in this era of technological advancement, changes are more rapid. With these changes, our lifestyle has changed too. Undoubtedly, our lifestyle today is very different from 100 years ago. Whether or not these changes are for the better is debatable. In my opinion, I see these changes as a good thing as it improves the standard of our lives. First and foremost, the standard of life has improved due to the development of education. Education institutions can be accessed easily as it can be found at every corner, even in the countryside. There are countless government educational institutions in all states. …show more content…
Teenagers and workers of all ages carrying smartphones and i-pads have become a common sight as they are the must-haves in order to keep up with the times. Modern communication tools such as computers, smartphones, internet, We Chat, Whatsapp, Facebook and others have definitely made communication more convenient than ever. In the past, it was quite difficult to communicate with others who are living far away because only a few families had a landline telephone. (Diamandis, P., 2017) Now the use of emails and availability of chat rooms have made communication easier, quicker and cheaper. Furthermore, a whole ocean of knowledge is now just a mere click away. People no longer spend hours flipping through thick and heavy encyclopedias in libraries for information. Instead, search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing and others are freely available and can be used at anywhere in the world for free over a WiFi network. (Gil, P., 2017) As an example, in the past people would not receive news immediately as it would take days or probably weeks before they receive but now instantaneous responses can be received and quicker decisions can be …show more content…
100 years ago, most of the people were stuck in one place as they have to think carefully about driving or walking miles away just to have a simple trip. They died within a few miles just to seek specialists treatment as travel was slow, uncomfortable, dangerous and costly. (DocPlayer, 2017) But now, modern transportation system such as airplanes, mass rapid transit (MRT), light rails, commuter trains and others have definitely made travelling speedier and more comfortable than ever. Modern transportation system also offers friendly facilities to the elderly, disabled and wheel-chair bound travellers to help them support their mobility. This gives people chances to travel intensively, not to stay at home like in the past. In the other words, people can travel to wherever they like, either neighbouring town or state or international travel to broaden their horizons and knowledge. For example, people today only have to spend over 8 hours to fly from London to New York which is unbelievable as in the past it took 5 days to travel it. (Diamandis, P.,

Its a well known fact that technology is becoming more embodied in our lives. This increase in ownership of technology has revolutionized access to information through the internet. One notable case is O’Grady v. Superior Court of Santa Clara County (2006). Apple filed a case against an unnamed individual who allegedly leaked information on several online sites regarding new Apple products.…

The millennial generation is often criticized for its narcissistic tendencies and lazy lifestyles. Though it is unrealistic to shine a negative light that inaccurately labels an entire group of people, it is also unfair to discredit millennials for the way they persevere through a damaged economy. As reported by Derek Thompson in his article, “The Economy Is Still Terrible for Young People”, a majority of millennials face the problem of having jobs that “don’t pay much” with wages that “aren’t growing”. Being unable to create enough income to live comfortably may seem extremely problematic and crippling, however, in Amanda Machado’s article, “How Millennials are Changing Travel”, she documents a trend among millennials that, at first glance, seems illogical. Machado states that, “20 percent of all international tourists, or nearly 200 million travelers, are young people”.…

I have a question. Are we here in modern time stuck in ways of how society used to be with the social classes and the diversities or have we progressed in the fact that things are getting better with the technology and the standards of living with school and work. Some may say, well yes we are stuck with the differences of social class and thing will not get better because that is just how society is; but then you may find some may say, well yes things are getting better with the fact that statistics show the levels of good or bad maybe going up or down. I am going to have to say that it goes both ways. But we also have to look at the progressing that it is in today and will have in the future.…

In a world where people get what they want, when wanted, seems impeccable. However, psychologically, The Harvard Study of Adult Development states, “That loneliness kills, and being social makes us happier, the quality of your relationships matter and relationships don't just protect our bodies, they protect our brains” (Waldinger). Proverbs 14:18 GNT “Ignorant people get what their foolishness deserves, but the clever are rewarded with knowledge” (“BibleGateway”). Mildred believes that complacency is better than knowledge, because she would rather be with her “family” which are the people in the parlor walls (Bradbury 69). Rather than reading books about people she can not see (Bradbury 69).…

I believe society has changed in many ways some changes have been good some have been bad. The changes i would like to talk about have affected people all around this country. we've seen people have arguments over things that shouldn't be argued about we've seen groups turn on each other over what they think is right and we're seeing possibly the worst election year ever. But we've seen new fascinating technology being developed like rovers that NASA says may be able to land on a comet. But people have changed But not for the best and not for the worst they seem slower now like they believe anything someone with little power says we have huge groups that pay attention to this crappy election and not to what is going on in their own backyard.…
