Introduction
It is evident throughout the world today that the quality of water has become increasingly important in terms of not only ensuring that every individual has an adequate quality and quantity of the substance, but also for the maintenance and sustainability of the world’s natural environment (. However despite water quality remaining as an essential part of life for all living organisms, the influence of human developments involving farms and urban areas have brought a somewhat negative impact to the environment where the quality of water has decreased, due to the effects of multiple detrimental limitations. Clarity is a term which is considered to be the result of two potential factors including either from the dispersion of suspended solids that have been exploited throughout the body of water. Apart from the dirt and other inorganic substances, (including nitrates and phosphates, which have made their way into the water system through fertilizers and detergents from nearby parks and farm properties), there has also been evidence suggesting there has been significant amounts of bacteria, that of which has been distributed throughout the system through aquatic life and recreational purposes of the creek. The higher the turbidity, the more opaque the water is which then evidently reduces the sun’s rays from having the ability to penetrate the surface of the water, in order to provide the sunlight needed for the process of photosynthesis for aquatic species. In order for this to successfully take place, a suitable level of turbidity must be achieved of no greater than 5 NTU (nephelometric turbidity units), which is basically referred as the maximum turbid state that a body of freshwater can nutritiously obtain (Smith et al., 2012). The suspended solids which are found to be located near the surface would then provide a barrier to prevent any heat being absorbed by the water, which would then raise the water temperature above normal (refer to temperature paragraph above) as well as reducing the amount of dissolved oxygen within the water which will then evidently reduce the overall health and quality of the creek. Nevertheless, due to the fact that these suspended solids haven’t dissolved during the process of combining with the H2O polar molecules, it must then suggest that they are the result of an ionic solute and won’t dissolve into the water due to the cations and anions of each molecule being repelled against
