1a. Blue zones are certain places around the world in which the lifestyle of people allow them a longer and healthier life compared to the rest of the world.
2. Shift Down: In the blue zone’s part of their schedules include a portion of time set aside to relieve stress. This time could include a nap, happy hour, praying, or any other ways of stress relief. 80% rule: This rule used in the blue zones reminds people to only eat until they are 80% full. This allows them to not be hungry, but also not get the feeling of being full. The 80% rule can also help with weight loss.

This means they are creating environments where making the healthy choice is easy, that people move naturally, they eat wisely, everyone connects with different people, and they have the right outlook on life. The project makes making healthy choices easy by putting people in an environment in which the choice is all around better. They understand that where you grow up and who you associate with effects your decisions. So by putting people in environments alike to the ones of Blue Zones, they will make similar decisions as Blue Zone people. The Blue Zones project encourages people to move naturally. So they provide activities that make it fun to get out and do things. The project works with businesses dealing with food: so restaurants, grocery stores, school cafés, etc, to make food healthier and more nutritious, as well as tasty. The Blue Zones Project makes it easy to make connections with many different groups and individuals until you find your “place.” Lastly the project provides mindfulness and purpose workshops that help people and teach them how to relieve stress, living in the moment and being in touch with their personal gifts. This way the people in the communities have sense of purpose. With all of these minor changes the communities are becoming happier, healthier, and living
