6,000 acres in size. Humans put out so much garbage that we are having to find and make bigger landfills. If we could see the garbage we get rid of in our landfills we would get rid of it differently. In the United States we have temporary solutions to getting rid of our garbage.

In “The Hidden Life of Garbage” I feel like Roger’s has a good point about if we saw our garbage would we get rid of it in a different way. Americans deposit over 4.5 billion waste each year, think about that, that is a pretty big number and if we don’t find a better solution we are going to end up seeing are garbage all over the streets contaminating our environment. Roger’s makes you think, if we don’t start cutting back on the ways we deposit our waste what will happen to the streets of our cities. In the twentieth century most things we consume are not easily decomposed, so if we start using things that are easily decomposed then that would be one solution to our overfill of landfills and preventing garbage on the streets.
“The Hidden Life of Garbage” could be improved if she would give more examples on how we can solve problems of the overflow of garbage to our countries and cities. She could also give a permanent solution, this is our environment we are living in we have to take care of it, it is all we have. We could improve this by using more ecofriendly things in our garbage …show more content…
She also supports her thesis with evidence of America’s trash problem and the overfill, making us realize if we keep going on the track we are now with our temporary garbage solutions our garbage will end up where we will be seeing it, proving her points in
