The effects of Marijuana are impaired coordination, difficulty thinking or concentrating, shortened attention span etc. Those are all short term effects. Long term users can experiences lowered motivation, higher anxiety, panic attacks and respiratory illnesses, they can also develop physical dependence on the drug itself and withdrawal can be a symptom if not given to the user. Marijuana can also lead to disturbed thoughts and can worsen into psychotic symptoms such as schizophrenics. Chronic marijuana can lead to a physical and psychological addiction.
Scientist have said that “No one has ever died of marijuana but that doesn’t mean that it is not harmful.” Marijuana can be harmful to its users just like any other drug can. Marijuana shouldn’t be banned to those who use it for medical reasons. It should be banned for those who use it for fun or people who abuse the legalization of this drug. The government should get I.D cards for those who are able to use it at cannabis stores and that you should only be able to get one of these cards if the people have an actual disease and have been checked out for and meet the requirements for the usage of this drug. It is risky legalizing this drug as Colorado’s citizens did abuse the drug when they made purchasing the drug legal in that state.
