The drunk driving law in the State of Michigan makes it illegal to drive with a .08 percentage blood alcohol concentration or above. In 2013, there was a total of 35,534 DUI arrests in Michigan. (Head) It is against the law to drive while intoxicated, why do people still choose to have one too many drinks in their system before they get on the road? Drivers should be more responsible, drivers should think about the costs driving and driving could cause them, and the police force should attempt to do a better job at enforcing the drinking and driving law.

Alcohol acts as a depressant to your central nervous system, which means when you drink it your brain cells communicate at a slower rate than normal. One of the ways to ensure that you will not drink and drive is to not put yourself in a situation where you know you are going to drink and drive back home afterwards. Another way to ensure that you will not drink and drive is to make sure you have a friend or family member that will be able to be your designated driver for that night.
