In the weeks after Zach 's confidential conversation with Big, he noticed a change in the conduct of General Jackson. For all of his life, the General had been an aloof, distant creature. Whenever he encountered another masculine creature, regardless of specie, he always conveyed a sense of superiority creating the impression that he felt the other creature was a poor specimen of manhood compared to him. He couldn 't help himself. He was just a tomcat. Ever since I could remember I have always been interested in learning about law and politics. Therefore, I decided to interview Zach Parks, who is currently a lawyer for Covington & Burling LLP and also studied Political Science. I was introduced to Zach Parks by my bishop back at home in Virginia. Parks and I had our informational interview over the phone. The reason I chose him was because he is a member of LDS church and a BYU graduate, which makes it easier for us to relate due to our similar background.…

When I look back to this infamous day in the sixth grade, there are two things I remember the most. One is the sound that reverberated through the halls. The second, the crushing guilt I was left with. Even though the day started out like any other it didn’t end that way. I was collecting books from my locker when I saw my friend, Rhiannon, talking to Jackie, who she supposedly couldn’t stand.…

The President of Boys Thinking that I was going to have to become the “leader,” or otherwise correct form as, “President,” as a calling from my bishop sent chills through my blood and my heart pounding. I knew that there would be a new president called since our previous one moved away sadly as he was a friend, but I didn’t really think of being called. I was called to be the president of the deacon’s quorum. It was a sunny day and church had just ended and I was walking through the hallways of the building that had half white walls, a brown wooden chair railing across the middle, and a rough, hairy tan colored wall as the other half.…

A situation in my life where someone close to me was not treated fairly occurred right in my own family with my brother, Zachary. As my brother and I were growing up, we were raised as Christians but were never forced into a certain religion nor forced to follow one. Our parents really let us make our own decisions as we grew older about those parts of our lives. Zach just so happened to have a different belief system than my father, and it began to cause a lot of issues between the two of them. My father began to resent Zachary for his beliefs even though he kept it to himself for the most part.…
