The author shows that some people try so hard to fulfil their dreams. The author shows this to us when he shows us gatsby. Gatsby has made so many lies that he wants to make real. His main goal is to get daisy how ever he has too. Everyone has an american dream that they would like to fulfill in their lives. Daisy two things that she is wanting, she wants to be a rich person and she also wants gatsby then he leaves for war. The definition of the american dream has changed through out the years but one way it has been represented has stayed around a long time. “James Truslow Adams wrote in 1931 "The American Dream is that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement."” most people have the same mind set when trying for their dream many americans want to be rich, famous or just to be successful. Many American authors added the ideas of the american dream to their work as a theme or idea, to get their point across. One of these books is Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.

Once he found daisy he had a house built right across the bay from daisy's house. Gatsby "Involuntarily glanced seaward—and distinguished nothing except a single green light, minute and far away, that might have been the end of a dock." this light was the end of daisys dock and this showed gatsby that their is always hope in fulfilling your dreams. Gatsby wanted daisy soo bad that he would go to her husband and tell him off. Gatsby told tom "I've got something to tell you, old sport...Your wife doesn't love you,...She's never loved you. She loves me." he said that to tom because he thinks that daisy wanted him more than she ever wanted tom. Daisy had actualy loved both of them for diffrent reasons toms reason was he had lots of money but gatsby was a true
