The populations studied over this period of time were both adolescents and adults whom where considered to be using the internet excessively. This group of researchers seemed to have found dysfunctional internet use being problematic as well as having negative outcomes which can lead the adolescent children directly into addiction over a period of time as they venture into adult hood. This article which I tend to agree with mentions “the structure and functions of the dopamine D2 receptors changing” (Lortie, C. L., & Guitton, M. J. 2013). This is different from the previous two articles that didn’t state anything about the pleasure chemical within people that make a huge difference if addiction is present or not. All three articles mentioned the need for further research and in light of proving internet addiction neither article actually presented or provided solid evidence of addiction. With having an addiction most people tend to suffer with the need for something or someone, they can’t live with or without it or them and they simply can’t stop. I’d like to think of internet addiction as being something similar to an impulsive control disease. Meaning, people who suffer with the overly excessive use of the internet have serious emotional, social and a need to connect with
