Overall, Borough Park has a better educational level than Bedford Stuyvesant. In my opinion this is because Bedford Stuyvesant lacks poor access to amenities and lack of resources such as schools and community programs. If a neighborhood lacks school and/or very good schools, it will be hard to get a proper education. In an excerpt called “At the Edge of Poverty”, the author says, “The children of the poor are funneled into delinquency, drugs, or jobs with meager pay and little future” (Shipler, pg. 6). This is because of the lack of schools and good schools in Bedford Stuyvesant.…

The college choices that I have in mind to transfer to are Lehman College or New York University. These two colleges are quite different in ways such as size, tuition and fees, financial aid, distance from home, social events, atmosphere and reputation. The first difference between Lehman College and New York University is that Lehman College is a medium size school with a total population of 12,085 students.…

I chose to attend Wor-Wic Community College because of the support system that Wor-Wic has to offer. I applied to the school and attended it while I was injured with a traumatic knee injury and the staff really proved to me that they cared. I had surgery the first week of classes,so I emailed my teacher and they were all understanding and extremely helpful in accommodating to my needs. The late computer lab hours really helped me to be able to get my school work done after my night classes ended. Everywhere that I go I advocate for Wor-Wic because it is truly more than an institution, it is like another family to me.…

I think that smaller colleges are better because there are less people and they could have your profession that you want to do in colleges and the professor might be able to help you if you need it.. It is better for me because there are less students and i could get a lot of help if i need it and I don’t like being around large groups of people and people would talk out as much in larger colleges and smaller ones there is much less noise. The smaller colleges are more for me because I don’t do good around large crowds of people and I do better when there is a lot less people and if the professor help me with some stuff that I am not understanding if I don’t get it and the professor would know me because there is not a large amount of people.…

Just like me, thousands of international students as well as local students are benefitted by the affordable price, simple requirements for admission, and tremendous options and opportunities of community college. Though I belong to engineering field back in my country, I was able to switch to IT field and many of those grades were easily transferred to a community college which saves both time and money. At the moment I have an Associate degree and employed in an IT field as well. This would not have been possible in the absence of community college. The most interesting thing is, for my Bachelors degree I am taking only core course at Western Kentucky University while taking other general courses at community college in a very cheap price comparing to WKU, which is about 3 times more expensive.…
