Surround sound is a system of stereophonic sound involving three or more speakers surrounding the listener to create a more realistic effect. What is surround sound? surround sound can be translated as a atmospheric sound manipulation. Manipulation of the mind is caused by the placement of speakers to give the allusion to the listener to feel like they are in the 1st person prospective. Surround sound is a technique for enriching the Sound Reproduction quality of an audio source with three or more audio channels from speakers that surround the listener. Providing sound from a sphere radius experience in the horizontal plane as opposed to consumers know as stereo. Some costumers may not even what surround sound. The sound was dispersed throughout the cinema, controlled by an engineer using 54 loudspeakers. The film “This Is Cinerama” in 1952, reappeared with using discrete seven-channel sound, and the race to develop other surround sound methods took off. Since the creation of surround sound it has evolved. Such as the amount of speakers needed to create a surround image, no longer is 54 speakers necessary to create the surround sound image. In modern day surround sound you will find dolby systems to be surround sound using 5 speakers and a subwoofer which supports the LFE channel. This is called the 5.1 format. 5.1 surround sound is the most common format, It includes a total of six channels.
