My family has always been a constant support throughout my life and has always pushed me to excel at what I do. Learning new things has always been encouraged in my household. My parents would periodically take me to the museum of natural history where I was allowed the enlivening experience of learning new things. I was able to experience the dramatic vastness of space and the intricate history of how humans evolved from more primal beings. My friends and my school have given me a place where I can feel secure and open to learning. My school is a welcoming place that puts academics first and ensures that I can sufficiently challenge myself throughout high school. I live in a suburban town where everything happens very predictably. This town provides an excellent environment based on welcoming students by allowing places to play, study, and hang out with friends. The studious atmosphere of my community has inspired me to be the best version of myself. My friends are helpful in pushing each other in the right direction. Our friendly competitive nature allows each one of us to excel by trying to keep ahead of the rest. This friendship is one that is most beneficial in high school as the competitive spirit prevents slacking in the group. My robotics team is the most important extracurricular activity in my schedule. During my junior year, after two years of dedication and hard work, I was appointed the design team captain. I spent the year training the freshman and working on building the robot with the use of 3D design software. I inspired my members to become dedicated to the robotics team by helping them excel at their tasks. After a year of work, I was appointed the team captain for my senior year and I aim to continue to take my team to greater heights. In addition to my robotics team, I spent many hours this past summer helping a research team at Rutgers University.
