Where we see the outcome of it portrays in our lives, for instance, as soon as the revelation of the baby gender the parents start their preparation. Here we see the gender stereotype clearly shown in the parents’ behavior, if the baby is a male the parents will buy things that represents masculinity as portrayals in children’s programs and commercials. According to the gender stereotype male suppose to wear blue, green, or brown where female suppose to wear red, pink, or white. Also, the males suppose to play with hard toys such as car, truck, etc. where females suppose to play with soft toys such as doll, teddy bear, and etc. however, such stereotypes are illustrated in television screens, social media and everywhere, thus we grow up as well as our children believing on it. Eick stated that, “The majority of females shown were also dressed and drawn stereotypically with tiny waist and short skirts. The males seemed even more confined than the females in regards to the roles they were allowed to play and the way they are dressed” (Eick, 1998). Writing from experience, my little brother who we born in 2010 start watching since he was one year now he is very addicted to it, and he is very hard to classify. Our culture contradicts with what he is been watching and since he is still in the learning mode it becomes hard for him to tell what is right from wrong. Knowing that children can be brainwashed by watching television, especially cartoons, some still ignorant to this issue. As being mentioned previously, the gender stereotype is the most common in children’s programs and advertising. Observing the reaction of some male children when giving a pink shirt or a doll many replied, “ I am not a girl” this proves that gender stereotypes are vividly engraved in their minds. Not saying that it is wrong, but the social norm and what we believe in shouldn’t be established from a stereotype. I too believe that pink and dolls are for girls, but I do not believe it should be limited to girls only, therefore any male who wear a pink color should not be judged as a transgender, we just need to keep the gender balance in
