“Style refers to the distinctive manner in which a writer arranges words to achieve particular effects.”(p.224). As a writer decides what book to write, the ideas for tone and style are what become the framework for that particular writing. An ominous tone supported by a violent style of diction do not make pleasant bedtime stories for children. This particular style would be better suited for a more mature audience. Which is why I think Stephen King and R.L. Stein had such popular writings, due to the unique styles of both personalities and their abilities to creatively imagine horrible worlds. Along with fear, sadness is another strong emotion that can be displayed in the tone and style of writers. Imagination inspired a tale of homeless young man defeating an unruly king, helps us learn and sympathize with the plight of the peasants brought on by the king, condemning him for his actions. Then as all good stories should, ends with good guy living happily ever after. In other words, fiction, even the simple story of the boy who cried wolf aids in drawing us together around the same common values we hold dear as our theme for living
