The first part of managing an effective team is understanding the team’s processes, roles and behaviors. The team has many functions meaning there are many factors that can cause a team to become ineffective. Teamwork combines the skills and the creation of a diverse number of people in order to produce and effective outcome. Knowing the true meaning of teamwork is the first step in making a successful team which is a major part that I was missing from previous teams. A leader is someone that many people look to for direction, guidance and inspiration, which makes it important for our leaders to have the aptitude to make difficult decisions and to be able to do what is right for the people.
