The conceptual framework used to add focus, direction and understanding to this study is taken from a sociological perspective of education. This involves the connection between education and society and other sociological units which bond the social fabric of society and is also said to emphasize sociological aspect of education phenomena (Barkan, 2012). The two sociological perspectives or theories considered for this study are Functionalism and Conflict Theory. It is an assumption of this study that these perspectives would likely presents different implication for the experiences of the social players, depending on how the phenomena engages each individual. What are the experiences of parents of students with exceptionalities and the perceived considerations that may likely impact these parents and their children’s lives as they interface with the evolving seamless education system in Trinidad and Tobago?
Sub-questions
1. What are the experiences, perspectives and expectations of parents of students with disabilities regarding the development of a seamless education system in Trinidad and Tobago?
2. What are the connotations for students with disabilities within the proposals for seamlessness in the education system in Trinidad and Tobago?
3. How are the practices within the seamless education initiative likely to impact the lives of parents and their children with disabilities?

The size and location of the sample was restricted as a result of limitations imposed by time, access and the availability of funds to the study. These caused further restrictions such as access to human resource, materials and equipment that would have allowed an increase in the scope of the study. The sample consists of stakeholders who were identified as the individuals who would be able to provide the most insight for the study since their occupational capacity in relation to the focus of this study gives each participant a unique perspective. These participants were also selected on the basis of specific criteria as well as availability and accessible to the researcher.
