The first Smokey Bones opened in Orlando, Florida in 1999. Since then Smokey Bones has had an extensive history including changing owners, expanding the restaurants, and evolving the menu. Smokey Bones Bar and Grill is known as a casual, dining restaurant that specializes in barbecue and sports entertainment. The goal of Smokey Bones is to be the favorite choice for food, drinks, and fun. They aim to provide good food and drinks in a great atmosphere as the appeal for their guests.
Smokey Bones strategic priorities for the company include four main areas all equally important for the company and without the other would not work. The first priority is “Bones buzz” which refers to marketing and promoting the brand across all channels of information to increase appeal, raise awareness, and entice new customer trial. While Smokey Bones does not currently have television advertisements, they are responsible for mailing advertisements and coupons as their primary form of marketing. The second priority for the company is service excellence. The company’s aim is to raise the bar on service and hospitality through quality training, execution, communication, and accountability. Service excellence is provided through everyday execution of the motto that “Smokey Bones is the favorite place for food, drinks, and fun”. The third priority is to be the best in food.
