Virginia (Jamestown colony) was founded in 1607 by the Virginia Company of England (supported by the Queen). The British sent noblemen so they could take over the colony, but many of them died because of diseases. What the British did about this was only send more to help …show more content…
One the similarities was the way the government would be operated. They both had a system that the colony would be divided into counties run by a sheriff or a governor, but later on was broken into parishes run by vestries. Another similarity between the Royal and Charter Colony was that both colonies were colonized mainly by English people. Also, both colonies were very successful in the long run and were able to become free from the Europeans.
Massachusetts Bay Colony and Jamestown were both British colonies, but had different social, economic, and political ideas. Massachusetts had a better economy which could sustain their people, meanwhile the Virginia Colony was struggling. Jamestown was built to make as much money as possible, and the Massachusetts Bay was because of religious reasons. Also, both colonies were brutal to the Native Americans.
