These exmaples portray the likely hood or possibility of this kind of society existing in our world today. In the novel A Handmaid’s Tale, by Margaret Atwood, and the film V for Vendetta, directed by James McTeigue, demonstrates how the power of controlling certain aspects of their citizens’ lives, when used by a powerful being or a government, creates a strong totalitarian government that overthrows the entire society. Especially, controlling the morality of the family relationships of their citizens, the force upon religion, and specific laws that must be followed by the citizens that strip them of their individuality and cause the government to become stronger.
From one place to another, it has been shown that families keep individuals sane. It keeps them in a state of mind that they have some sort of control of themselves and their relationships.
